[Decision guide]
What this article will help you decide
architects, designers, project and facility teams
check the solution on the plan before ordering and synchronize the visualization with the specification
do not mistake a beautiful visualization for a working document: dimensions, articles, engineering and plan version must match
Why use blocks instead of copying lines?
AutoCAD defines a block as a compound object, making it faster to insert, rotate, and copy, and changing the definition updates related instances. This helps maintain the same furniture geometry throughout the project.
Blocks can also store attributes, such as an SKU or a note.
How to avoid scale errors?
Immediately measure a known dimension, such as the width of a table. A discrepancy between millimeters, centimeters and meters can make a block visually plausible, but incorrect.
The insertion point is chosen at a logical corner or center, the same for the entire library.
How to organize layers and areas of use?
It is better to separate the outline of the object, hidden lines, text and service areas. The area for moving a chair or opening a door can be disabled on the presentation plan, but retained for testing aisles.
Do not overload the block with shading and small geometry that does not affect the solution.
How to link DWG to product and specification?
Add a friendly name, series code and actual dimensions, then check against the current catalog. You can request CAD materials via PoMo collaboration page.

Frequently asked questions
What is a DWG furniture block?
A merged AutoCAD object to re-place a single item.
Why is the block inserted too large?
Most often, the units of the source and target drawings do not match.
Do I need to show the chair area?
Yes, to check passages; it can be placed on a switchable layer.
Can DWG be considered a current specification?
No, items, finishes and availability must be confirmed separately.
A low-commitment first step
Review the layout and request a project plan
Send PDF or DWG with dimensions, number of users by zone, engineering restrictions, brand book and deadline. During office hours, the team will clarify missing data and prepare a verified layout plan and data sheet for the work specification.
- 01
You share the project details PDF or DWG with dimensions, number of users by zone, engineering restrictions, brand book and deadline.
- 02
We review the brief We clarify the restrictions, availability and scope of work.
- 03
You receive a clear next step verified layout plan and data sheet for work specification.
